raises awareness about the fact that museums are an important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures and development of mutual understanding, cooperation and peace among peoples.

World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development
was proclaimed with the occasion of the 2001 Universal Declaration on Cultural Diversity and is also closely related to the 2005 UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
